Verse:

James 1:16-17
   Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (KJV)

Thought:

   A father is someone in your life that provides for your needs, protects you from harm, and gives you instruction on how to live a meaningful life. God has done exactly that and has proven Himself to be deserving of the title ‘Father’. Actually, He didn’t have to prove anything. He chose to create mankind and to offer us eternal life. He offers instruction on how to live our lives with meaning and in relative peace with those around us.  All we have to do is return His love and become His children.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
   Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit open our hearts and minds to Your Word on how to live. Thank You for all You have given us and for all You have done for us. Through Your love, kindness, and mercy You have shown how much You care for us. May we be found worthy of Your sacrifice by living as You have taught us to live.
   We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
