Another Alabama Crimson Tide player is reportedly looking for a way out of Tuscaloosa.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore is "exploring transfer options" for reasons that currently "remain unclear" but could be related to a disciplinary issue. Though his ultimate destination still seems far from being made official, Sentimore is believed to be considering Miami, according to the News source.

Sentimore's decision comes as something of a surprise given the expectations for his 2011 season.

A redshirt sophomore out of Norco, La., Sentimore earned playing time in 11 games in 2010 for the Tide's stacked-as-usual defensive line, recording nine tackles and four quarterback hurries. He then enjoyed a productive spring, earning praise from Nick Saban and posting a QB hurry and half-tackle-for-loss in the Tide spring game.

Though not apparently first-in-line to start this fall, Sentimore was expected to be an important part of the Tide's three-man defensive line rotation, with an eye toward challenging for that starting role in 2012.

Assuming the report is accurate, though, that challenge will have to come on some other team's roster.

Sentimore is now the sixth player to leave the Tide program since the end of the 2010 season, following in the footsteps of Brandon Moore, Corey Grant, Demetrius Goode, B.J. Scott and Petey Smith.

Though it's debatable exactly how much impact Saban's habit of oversigning has on the flood of departures -- and Saban himself will be happy to debate you -- until his program stops its pattern of signing several players past the 85-scholarship limit and then spending a long summer suffering transfers, dismissals and medical scholarships, the topic likely isn't going away, new SEC legislation or not.

Report: DL Sentimore to be sixth Tide transfer

So it's better for schools to cut kids in December? Or should college football programs never cut kids for anything short of a felony conviction or total failure in the classroom? I'm confused. Middle school teams lose players to cuts and dissatisfaction with playing time. Same with high school. And pros. But I guess college football must be different.

If you are allowed 85 scholarships, how can you sign 95?   If USC is allowed only 8,  why can't they sign 25 even if they are on probation?
There will be transfers and dismissals but you shouldn't be able to oversign to compensate for the "just in case" it happens.
Saban is a perfect example of what's wrong with sports.

Becasue Schollies are for 1 year. Don't like that process? Well, that's how it is. Any scholly can be taken away for any reason, according to NCAA rules, even no reason is good enough to remove a scholly.

I know alot of you bleeding hearts don't like it? Hate it for you. Since you won't listen to true facts and will believe what ever so-called facts makes Saban look bad, I'll go that route. Even if it's true, there's nothing wrong with it. Call it unethical or whatever you want. I don't hear you beoches having a pity party for Academic Schollies being taken away. Why is that any different. If you do not perform up to expectations why is ok to take ascholly form one, but not the other? Isnt that a double standard? Isn't a double standard unethical?

I do not buy into the philosphy that once you give someone a scholly it's theirs no matter what. The mentallity that it doesn't have to be worked for or maintained is BS. But hey, that's the new generation right??? I want it all, I want it right now, and I want for nothing.

How many people here who were not blesssed with the talent to play CFB at a higher level would have loved to have had 1 or 2 years of college paid for? to have half of your loans wiped away...

The whole debate is just pure BS.

Once again another guy making clueless comments about USC claiming there was oversigning. First of all finish school so you can learn basic math. Second onlly 25 players are allowed per signing class which starts in the FALL. If for some reason the school does not have 85 players on the team high school students who are actually smart enough to finish school early can enroll into college in the spring semester. Thus being counted towards the current roster not the upcoming roster.

USC doesn't sign guys who are barley passing high school like the USC in the SEC.

Why the cloak of secrecy around the program?  That's not all Saban, though he does benefit from the layers of support.  There are lots of ugly things about big time sports and the money it churns.  We, the fans, could fix it, if we cared enough or had brains enough to see it.  What message does it send to a 12 year old, when he knows going to college is nothing more than a preview/tryout for "The League?"  Why bother with the college scene at all if you are trained, taught and shown that the education means absolutely nothing.  How freaking pathetic is that?  Don't blame Saban or Cam's Dad.  Blame yourself.  We idiots feed this beast.

1 huge hole in this story.

Alabama isn't over the limit and doesn't need to make room for anyone.

And there wasn't any oversigning last year as far as I know.   I believe we still had 1 scholarship to give out after signing day and weeks after due to Clowney.

And there sure as hell wasn't enough to need all this many people gone, not to mention the death of 1 player, and rumors that Robby Green is also on the way out - after being suspended all last year as well.

Hit piece if I ever saw one.   Nevermind the facts, just enforce the perception of those who don't know any better.

the reason saban pulls this crap so the player does not go to anther sec school, he did this every year when he was at LSU, the guy has the biggest ego in the world and he thinks he has his own set of rules.
