Sometimes, there's news we'd rather just not have to pass on. The May 12 death of 21-year-old Alabama offensive lineman Aaron Douglas while on a vacation in Florida was one of those times.

And today's findings from the Douglas autopsy report makes this, unfortunately, another.

The medical examiner ruled the death "accidental," the result of the multiple drugs found in Douglas' system. Among those were the painkiller methadone and the anxiety medication diazepam, which is better known under the brand name of Valium.

According to police, Douglas had been taking a taxi to Jacksonville when he was invited to a party by a pair of women staying in the Fernandina Beach, Fla., area. His body was found on the second-floor balcony in Fernandina Beach the next morning, Douglas having passed away sometime after 2 a.m.

Douglas was a native of Maryville, Tenn., and he signed with nearby Tennessee out of high school before transferring to an Arizona community college and then to Alabama after the hiring of Derek Dooley. A freshman All-American with the Vols, Douglas sometimes struggled with off-field issues, which included a DUI arrest last December.

Eye on CFB continues to offer its sympathies to the Douglas family and those connected with Douglas at both the Tennessee and Alabama football programs.

Correction, that is what your GENERAL MANAGER drafted. Your GENERAL MANAGER and medical staff also gave Nick Saban Dante Culpepper when he wanted to trade for Drew Brees. He left Miami because the front office there sucks! You know, the same front office that asked a certain receiving prospect if his mother was a hooker. Maybe those are reasons he got the heck outta there. Keep your head buried in the sand my friend.

Then why, 4 years after the event, are you still whining like a little girl because he is gone?   If he was not a good pro coach than you should be grateful!  Quit being a baby, accept that you have a pretty good coach in Sporano, and get off the college boards, because obviously you have no sense of perspective. i.e.  perhaps the Alabama job is a better position than coaching your pathetic Dolphonys

please show me the post where i was upset he left.   im happy he is gone.   all i was doing was responding to someone who said he never lied.    if youre going to bash someone, at least read their posts and not just make things up.    i know reading is not a skill often taught in alabama, but try.

I think  the story is fine, in fact I think is a good, no great thing that it was posted. Once you turn a blin eye to this sort of thing, you leave a door open for it to happen again.

My concern is that people are commenting on the uniform and school. A young man has died, evrything else is inconsequential

Great, Alabama player OD's and they show TN pic

Great, Alabama player dies of OD and they show him in a Tennessee Uniform in the picture. Do you just hate the Vols? He died as a bama player. How about some editorial integrity. Most people looking at this will assume another Tennessee incident because most people look at pictures and headlines.

The kid squandered his life and that is sad, but stop putting boat anchors around Tennessee's neck. He has been gone from here for 2 years.

it was only Alabama and who the hell really cares about alabama

A hell of a lot more people than you could even imagine care about that State. I would imagine you have never been there or know anything about the state, in fact I would bet you had to use spell check to to make sure you spelled it correctly.

they really contribute nothing to the country anyway....not a big loss

Ever hear of Honda, Chrysler, Kia, Mercedes, Nasa, Toyota, Hyundai, International Harvester. They all have a major industry in The State of Alabama, so it appears they do contribute a good many things to the country. Maybe even more than the state you reside in. Take into account that there are also major farming industries there and you have a pretty well oiled state as far as industries go. They also have some pretty top notch colleges in the state, so try learning a few things about some place instead of having a stereotypical view of them. They may be from the south, but the majority of them are not "Dumb Hicks" like you would think they are.

From your post and your name it appears you have a liking for Vegas, which means you have very low morals anyway. You also appear to only pull for perennial losers or wanna-be's. Lets see York, PA, thats in the middle of B.F.E isnt it? Nowhere from Harrisburg and Philly. You have a typical northern attitude. I spent two years in Philly and its was almost as bad as the year i did in Chicago and the two I did in the middle east. One thing i can say is the cheesesteaks were awesome, but the people all sucked out loud. Nothing but attitudes and hatred, so I get why you seem so pissed off at the world, you fit right i with the lot of them.

Heres a good suggestion for you, learn some compassion for your fellow man, get out of the house and see the world and learn about your country and have a nice F***ing day. I'm out.

What a sad, sad country collectively we have become.  The guy died.  I don't care how he died.  He is gone.  How do you think his family and close friends feel?  And to read some of the comments on here is just disgusting.  Some of you are going to dance on his grave because you don't like the state? Or the university?  Geez.  Choke yourself!

16(16) 18(82) 17(114) 4(212) 18(226) 25(233)

that was what "the greatest" coach drafted for miami in 2006.    he may be good in college, but he cant draft pro talent to save his life.

Oh really?  Are you really this big a moron as to actually post this?   What do YOU contribute to the country, tough guy?  Aside from crappy and snide posts on the internet I am guessing you are just sucking on your mom's money and sitting at your little computer doing nothing but being a friggen troll.  I care about Alabama.  I am from Alabama and I am quite willing to bet the smallest podunk town in Bama contributes more to this country than you ever will in your worthless pathetic life.
Don't like my reply?
Suck it.
Still don't like it?
Even tougher for you
