Over its history, the internet has spawned a lot of stupid trends and memes. So when I say that I'm pretty sure planking is the dumbest of them all, you should know that means something. While I never really saw the point in misleading somebody to a YouTube video of Rick Astley, at least it was a kind of prank. A dumb prank, but a prank none the less.
But planking? What the hell is the point?
"Hey, look at me! I can lay flat on something! I'm kind of a big deal."
I don't get it, and I look forward to the day when the next stupid thing replaces it. Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet, and Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is getting in on the stupidity. Here's a photo of Griffin planking something I'm yet to see anyone do before.
He's planking a goalpost.
While this is still incredibly stupid, at least it requires a little bit of talent and athleticism. It can't be that easy to lay flat and stay balanced on a round post that's skinnier than you are. So I guess I can give Griffin some credit here.
Now please move on to the next stupid thing.
