The SEC's media guide cover is subtle

We don't know many SEC fans who wouldn't admit, if pressed, that the league's supporters can be just a wee bit obnoxious when it comes to the conference's five consecutive national championships. It kind of comes with the "five consecutive national championships" territory.

But at least we know the league office would never stoop to such lowest-common-denominator chest-beating, right? That Mike Slive and his administration would accept their good gridiron fortune with grace and humility, right? That official conference literature like, say, the cover of the 2011 SEC Media Guide would only reference the league's accomplishments with the most delicate subtlety, right?

Wrong. So, so wrong:

As they say: It ain't bragging* if you can back it up.

*Seriously, though, they're totally bragging.

i love it i want to buy one.we all would do the same if we were in control over a conference.hell i would have posted the trophies with the mascot or someone beside them.  the next thing for sec to do is get name change of title game to The SEC bcs National Championship Game.   GO GATORS

Let's get it straight. It is bragging.

But if a po' dog can't wag his tail sometimes, he ain't a dog.

And I can't think of a single conference that would not do the exact same thing if the positions were reversed.

I respect the teams in the SEC. I dont respect the BCS. The BCS is a mythical championship. It is not a playoff system. A playoff system would truely show that these teams are great.  The BCS leaves questions unanswered.

Being Proud of 5 consecutive BCS NC's is the lowest common demoninator? Really?

Let me guess, you support little league sports with no winners or losers, don't keep score, just make sure everyone get's to play and have fun, because competition is so Wrong.......

Maybe sports and competition are just to much for you to handle Jerry. Maybe it's time for you to head down the road of Ballet, or tap dancing. You definitely need to find something that's not going to "hurt your little feelings" the way big time College Sports do.

Life is tough Jerry, wear a cup.

I take it the man who wrote this article isnt a fan of the SEC.Well,....Get over it.Whats wrong with stating the facts. They put a 5 on the cover and thats chest beating??? haha Jeez,..i think someone`s a little hyper sensative.Maybe your favorite conference can win maybe just 2 titles back to back and make you feel better, but all the players want to play for SEC teams,so i doubt your wet dreams gonna be coming true. Roll Tide!!
