On Friday we reported that LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson had been involved in some kind of bar fight with teammates on Thursday night, though at the time we didn't know any details of the scuffle, or what exactly happened. Well, while the details of the fight are still unknown for the most part, there's one report that doesn't bode well for Jefferson or his teammates.

According to a report in The Times-Picayune, Jefferson will be one of four LSU Tigers to be arrested on Monday.

The report says that Jefferson and his teammates will face battery charges. Specifically, Jefferson and offensive tackle Chris Davenport will be charged with second degree battery. Defensive tackle Josh Downs, a starter, and wide receiver Jarvis Landry will be facing a simple battery charge. Simple battery is just throwing a punch or slapping somebody, and it's a misdemeanor.

That's not the case with second degree battery, which is a felony charge. It's a charge that is usually reserved for instances in which the victim suffers some kind of injury like a broken bone or needs to be hospitalized. According to the Baton Rouge police, four people had to check into the hospital to be treated for injuries after the fight.

The Times-Picayune report has been disputed -- to an extent -- by a Sunday Baton Rouge Advocate story, which states Jefferson, Davenport, Downs, and Landry will be reporting to BRPD for an interview at 9 a.m. Monday. BRPD officer Donald Stone did not confirm that the interview would result in arrests, saying it was still "early in the investigation," but did not rule them out. He did say that "one individual associated with the fight likely would be booked" on second-degree battery charges, but delined to say who.

The police also said that there were between 15 and 20 members of the LSU football team involved in the fight, but by the time police arrived, most were gone.

If Jefferson and his teammates are indeed arrested on Monday odds are that they will not be available for LSU's season opening game against Oregon.

A "disappointed and mad" Les Miles spoke with reporters Saturday, apologizing for his players' actions and vowing it would not happen again. Both Miles and LSU athletic director Joe Alleva suggested that in addition to internal discipline, further disciplinary actions would be taken once law enforcement completed their investigations. Miles did not rule out suspensions for multiple players in addition to Jefferson.

"[Senior starting center] T-Bob [Hebert] was [present] too, and there were a bunch of other guys," Miles said. "This was a team violation, not just a guy."

Report: Jordan Jefferson to be arrested on Monday

USMC...thanks for your service...however, that had to be the studpidest post EVER. So what you are saying is members of Team Semper Fi are now looking to "get some" of JJ??? That is ludicrous...

As a RETIRED member of the USAF,  I find it disheartening that a member of a US Uniformed Service would make such a outlandishly juvenille statement. So Marine, be proud...be brave...be the few...but don't be dumb.

Report: Jordan Jefferson to be arrested on Monday

Regardless of what rdjet25 says, we do not know the facts of this case.  We do not know that Jefferson pulled the driver out of the truck and kicked him in the head.  He is the first person to even suggest that Jefferson pulled the guy out of the truck.  I have read several times where Jefferson kicked someone in the head when he was down, but I thought that was the Marine that was trying to come to the rescue, not the driver of the truck.  I think the players will be interviewed by the police either today or tomorrow.  I hope it is today so we can have more actual information related to what is going on, and not have to rely on rdjet and his facts.  I do hope the BR police are fair about this and do not give any LSU football players any special treatment.  Les kicked Perrilloux off the team and he was better than Jefferson and all he did was minor stuff compared to possibly kicking someone in the head.  We also have much better backups now, so I do not think Les will be afraid to discipline Jefferson.  The whole college football world is watching; I do not want us to come off as condoning this type of thug behavior.

Report: Jordan Jefferson to be arrested on Monday

Let me tell you how Oregon conducts business.  You might remember a little running back by the name of LaGarrett Blount.  He's doing pretty good in another league.

He was suspended indefinately after misbehaving, despite being provoked.  He was give VERY rigid behavior guidelines and was given the opportunity to work his way back onto the team.  He was our number 1 and featured running back that 2009 Rose bowl year and we suspended him for all but 1 game of the regular season.

After learning Chips lesson, he is now a productive citizen, making a boatload of money doing it in the NFL.

Jeremiah Masouli, Our starting Quarterback that Rosebowl year was summarily dismissed off of the team with 1 year of eligibility left, his Senior year.  He couldn't live by Chip's guidelines, and was caught driving with a suspended license with dope in the car.

So, stop trashing Oregon, you clearly don't know your backside from a hole in the wall.

Oregon might be one of the cleanest programs in the Nation.

Chip honors the military every Spring game.  All the players have met and spent time with the soldiers who get in free to the Spring games

Nike has made special Camo Uniforms each of the last 2 years in their honor.

Chip does it right so shut your pie hole.

Gig em123...OU probably won't go undefeated but the aTm has ZERO chance in Norman. You have been out scored something like 200-28 in the last five games in Norman and YOU HAVE NEVER beaten Stoops TWO years in a row.

I bet you guys end up 9-4...losses to OU, OSU, Arkansas and your bowl game.

Btw, YOU DON"T WANT NO PARTS OF THE SEC....NONE. OU and Texas are the only ones that could survive and MAYBE be sucessful...you guys are as dillusional as Arkansas was.

Report: Jordan Jefferson to be arrested on Monday

Yes we have all had fights in our lifes, we have won and we have lost.  However, lets look at the facts of this case.  Jordan Jefferson pulled a driver out of the car he was in, and kicked him in the head. Only a coward would act that way.   That shows a lot of class.  I would expect more from the leader of the team not to be in this type of situation, or to walk away.  Better yet, how about the fact that they all checked in for curfew but snuck out to go to the bar.  Jordan Jefferson should be suspended until this case is closed.  Actually the four players involved should all be suspended, and all the other players should face a one game suspension.  We all know that Les will not do the right thing, he never has.  Thats right, he is making the team run extra laps. Forgive me, he punished the team.  PLease!!!   Maybe we should talk to judges and ask them to punish criminals by running laps.  Les Miles has more than enough depth on his squad and truthfully a better qb to play.  If Miles does not do the right thing, Lsu will continue to have its reputation tarnished.  It is just a matter of time before the ncaa gets a hold of Les.
