If LSU does end up with a freshman all american, it is much more likely that he will be a DT instead of the OT listed here.  I doubt Collins plays much, but Johnson will be in the rotation right away.  That being said, preseason freshmen all american teams are indeed ridiculous.

Well, with the the injury to Josh Dworaczyk it appears that Collins will play a lot after all.  I certainly can't see T-Bob holding him off for long, especially in light of Miles statement today that ,"I think you look at T-Bob, but I think a guy like La’el Collins has the ability," Miles said. "And we don’t want to slow him up. We want to get him to the field quickly."

I do agree about Johnson however,  As far as pre-season all-freshman teams, they mean as much as any other pre-season poll - squat.  But they do make for enjoyable conversation pieces.

It would've been less ridiculous if they called it a list of freshmen unlikely to redshirt that should be major contributors this year.  It will make them look silly if some of these players do redshirt.

The only way it isnt ridiculous is if you wanted to hype the even more ridiculous High School Recruiting "services". Like CBS, for example. And you wonder why some of these kids have exagerrated egos.  Why wouldn't they?
