With Texas A&M's move to the SEC, regular games against rivals such as Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor and other Big 12 schools will likely be over for the forseeable future. One underrated rivalry that will coming to an end is the Aggies game against the Red Raiders, who actually have a statue on campus where a horse's... posterior points toward College Station for a reason. The two sides have not gotten along very much at all recently and it appears some Tech fans have decided to leave an unplesant going away gift for A&M ahead of their game tonight, according to athletic director Bill Byrne.

Given that reception, it's easy to see why the Aggies have no problem discontinuing their series with the Red Raiders, especially those trips to Lubbock.

UPDATE: According to Rapid Reporter Brent Zwerneman, Byrne said four buses were vandalized and the matter was turned over to police.

Texas Tech fans vandalize Texas A&M buses

You are forgetting throwing batteries at the games and throwing tortillas with vulgarity written on them.  Tech fans are not all bad, but the ones that are bad are the worst fans in the Big 12.

Texas Tech fans vandalize Texas A&M buses

First, it doesn't matter WHAT was done to the buses or WHAT was used to vandalize them, it should have never been done. Second, the Texas Tech fans didn't do this because A&M is leaving the Big 12. They did it because they are immature, and would have done it regardless of A&M leaving the conference. The media keeps speculating what the motivation was behind the vandalism, but really is just because the majority of Tech students HATE Texas A&M. I'm not an Aggie or a Red Raider, but I am tired of seeing Techs fans and students do the things that just continue to give them a bad name. They have actually attacked the A&M mens basketball team after a game in Lubbock where Tech fans jumped down and blocked the team from getting through the tunnel after the game and attacked the coaches and players because tech lost. And lets not forget about the goal post the Tech fans decided to take down and attempt to put in the A&M section after Tech beat them. So, you can see that Texas Tech students and fans always do these childish idiotic things regardless of winning or losing or anything else. They think it's funny but really it just makes them look like the trash can of America...or at least the trash can of Texas. I also like how some Tech fans are saying that A&M overreacted because it wasn't really manure and spray paint, but fish bait and shoe polish. Who cares what it was?! They still did it and it was still stupid. And since there weren't any pictures released, there is no telling what was really in the buses. It is A&M officials against Techs officials and their word. This whole thing just needs to be forgotten about....Tech and A&M don't have to play each other really anymore, Texas A&M won, what's done is done and now A&M can leave the Tech fans to choose who their next rivals will be so they can do yet again, something stupid. Grow UP Texas Tech, you are making yourselves look bad.

Actually it was shoe polish and not spray paint on the outside of the bus. The shoe polish had absolutely nothing to do with the feces inside the bus, although the hotel mgmt and bus company think it may have been fish bait instead. How in the world you think shoe polish could be mistaken for feces is beyond me.

There's no way one can say it was Tech students that did this.  It could have easily been locals who don't even go to our school.  I was at the game and sat next to four aggie alum, some really nice people.  If you've been to a game in Lubbock you know it's the student section that gets rowdy and it's the locals who do not even go to Tech that can get offensive.  Every university has this.  Remember kidnapping our horse and spray painting it?  Really???  Spray paint a horse?  That's offensive.  It's always amusing to hear all the jokes about Tech and Lubbock from people that have never spent more than one football game there.  Lubbock has the nicest people you'll ever meet anywhere in the country.  As for Tech, the WSJ ranked us 19th on their list of most highly recruited graduates.  Penn State was 1, A&M was 2.

Oh, and what about the cheap shot that ruined Eric Stephens career?  I'm sure Ags will say he deserved that.

A&M will finish next year as good as 6-2 in the SEC depending on their schedule.  IF they get a favorable East pull of schools then they could easily when those games.  Only one school in the East really scares me at all and that is Florida.  In the west the teams that scare me are Alabama and LSU.  Arkansas did not beat us as much as we beat ourselves.  The game never should have been in jeopardy.  Until I see the schedule for next year and the same goes for everyone else there is no way of knowing how many games A&M will win or lose.

So the #2 school, in the Big 12, based on academics leaving will imprve the academics of the Big 12.  Is that Tech math?
