A season that has been full of bad news for Oregon State got some more on Monday, as it was announced that starting defensive tackle Castro Masaniai will miss the rest of the season. Masaniai suffered a broken left fibula during Oregon State's loss to BYU on Saturday night.

“It’s one of those unfortunate things that happen,” said head coach Mike Riley. “You have to rely on someone stepping in and playing. You are always looking for guys to be prepared.”

Riley also said that Andrew Seumalo will take Masaniai's place in the starting lineup this weekend when the Beavers play Washington State.

Masaniai started three games for Oregon State this season, recording 7 tackles, including 1.5 for loss and a sack. He also sat out the first game of the season with a suspension after being arrested in May following an incident at a local McDonalds.
