It's the game of the week. It's the game of the regular season. Heck, it may even be better than the upcoming BCS Championship. It's No. 1 LSU at No. 2 Alabama, and it's going to be held under the lights on Bryant-Denny Stadium, in prime time on CBS.

CBS Sports announced on Sunday that it would televise LSU-Alabama starting at 8:00 E.T. on November 5, with the lead announcing team of Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist in the booth. Tracy Wolfson will be the lead reporter.

Fans not near a television can also catch the game streaming live here at CBSSports.com.

LSU-Alabama to be held in prime time on CBS

I see this game as a very close contest...I don't understand why Bama is a pre-game 6 point favorite, I honestly think this is a toss-up.

I have a feeling that you can crunch all of the numbers, all that you want. These two teams are as close to mirror images of each other as you can get. This game is going to come down to who can last. This is going to be a hard hitting game, and the team with the best bench will take it. I can't wait. Geaux Tigers!

I'm with you lsutigers66.  This could potentially be a game for us all to remember.  I've managed to snag four seats in the nose bleed section but sure to totally lose my voice for a few days.

Too bad someone has to deal with the pain of losing.

Best of luck but I hope we have just a bit more luck that you do on 11/5.

LSU plays WKU at night later this year. Why are all the tigger fans whining about lack of a night game?

With two great defenses in LSU and Alabama this game will come down to offensive production.  Whether or not AJ McCarron can handle a top flight SEC defense is gonna determine if this is a game or not.  He has not been expected to start and finish a game against a top flight SEC defense in his college career.  The question is not if McCarron is good, because he is good.  Most new QBs in the SEC don't fair well in the big time SEC games.  They typically throw an interception or two in key situations.  However, if McCarron fairs well it will come down to OFFENSIVE RED ZONE PRODUCTION.

"Anyone who thinks LUS in gonna win ha a few loose screws. Have you not seen Bama play?! They could beat down 80% of the NFL teams! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!"

I'm a Bama fan, and unfortunately we all have a few wing-nuts like this one among our fans.  Anyone who believes that the best college team wouldn't lose by at least 50 points to the worst NFL team is the one with some loose screws.  With all the serious trash talk and S#!* slinging going on for the next two weeks, I can actually appreciate posts like this from space cadet fans with blind loyalty.

No one gives Bama's O any credit... Little known fact:  Bama is #1 in the SEC in total O & rushing O; #2 in passing O.

LSU's very good D is going to have their hands full.

Bama 36 - LSU 14

I am an LSU graduate, but Alabama is a great team and it's going to be a fantastic game. We should all just enjoy the build-up instead of mud slinging over who is better. These are both amazing, deep teams and I think very closely matched. And what a great tribute to the SEC.. I didn't realise that a 1-2 SEC regular season game had never been playeed. It would be incredible if the loser still managed to get back to #2 and have an all-SEC BCS Championship Game. I guess it's not out of the question if it's a close game, but highly unlikely because of the conference championships that will be played.

Time to start the smack!!!! LSU is much better than BAMA and all college football will witness a beatdown. Richardson will be their whole offense and it won't be nearly enough. McCarron will be rattled and shaken like never before. Saban will come close to cardiac arrest and Tide fans will be pissed. Sugar Bowl vs. Boise will be what Tide has to settle for. LSU is deeper and faster with better coaches.
