Pitt players react to Todd Graham's departure

Todd Graham's departure from Pittsburgh to accept the head coaching job at Arizona State came as a big surprise to the college football world, especially the Pittsburgh players and administration. The school has already issued their official statement of disappointment, but the current Panthers took their displeasure to Twitter.

It wasn't pretty, either.

Below are a few selections from defensive end Brandon Lindsey (@B_Lindsey7), wide receiver Devin Street (@D_Street_15), and wide receiver Salath Williams (@WiLLiando17). Graham reportedly informed the team by text message as he was on the way to Tempe to be officially introduced as the next coach of the Sun Devils. Lindsey and Street, in particular, spent a great deal of Wednesday voicing their frustrations. If you'd like you can check out their pages in the links above - but warning, some language is NSFW.

I love it when "Student Athletes" use such wonderful Grammar and spelling.  It's good to know that they are held to the same academic standard that I was.

Thats funny, a mil dollar buyout. He must love Arizona State so much that nobody is worried about him leaving. The guy preaches morals, principals, high character traits, but shows none of them on himeself. Married 3 times, with 6 kids to three different women, but your not allowed to talk about that. Also, having no choice but to leave Pitt the way he did, kicking a Pitt official from his house and calling him an --------, and I'll call the police, all because he wanted to see if Todd was still the coach. Guess he was not, he just did not tell anyone. Telling the players, that he will be fine because he makes alot of money and is a businessman, thats why"the buyout at Pitt is only 1 mil".. Remeber that Todd at South Side steaks in Pittsburgh after a couple of those cocktails and those I hate Pittsburgh jokes and bla bla bla. Todd is real character guy, that is a true statement, he is just a true character for himself only. Nothing against Arizona State, and actually Arizona State fans will be on my side after they learn that their coach is well, Ill let them tell me in a bit.

I think Pitt should do something bold before it hires its
next football coach. I’ve read about some of the potential replacements and it
appears to be a mediocre group at best, including assistant coaches and head
coaches with average records.

I recommend that they contact Jim Tressel and sell him on
taking the job. He has been a winner everywhere he has coached. He has had
success recruiting the areas from which Pitt recruits. And, there isn’t a
better game day side line coach in the business.

Going into the ACC should be an inducement for him. If he
agrees to take the job, put a provision into the contract (recommend 6 years)
that if he tries to take another football job at any level during the term of
his contract he forfeits the right to work for anyone for a period of 5 years.

Pitt needs to hire a proven winner. The best predictor of success
is a record of past success. Jim has everything we need and he is available. Go
get him.

So tired of hearing this. First, ASU is second class to Arizona. Secondly, bashing Pittsburgh obviously shows your lack of knowledge about the city. Though it lacks warm weather year round (aka FOOTBALL WEATHER) it has been name the most liveable city in America several times in the 2000's. It is the 10 cleanest city in the entire world. Has the 2nd most beautiful view in America (Next to the Grand Canyon---According to Forbes Magazine) Academics here, obvioulsy, are held to higher standard in PA rather then Arizona lol. We aren't a Steel City that people knew it in the 70's. We're now a Technology/Medicine based city. Finally, Western PA is known as the hott bed of America for football. Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Jim Kelly, Joe Namouth are just SOME of the qb's from here. I can't even go into other positions or this post would be 3 days long. on the East Coast (Mainley Pennsylvania) we care so much about football unlike Arizona. You can tell even through our Pro teams. Steelers and hell even the Eagles always sold out. Especially the Steelers, selling out every game since the 70's. You wouldnt know anything about that because all you guys care about is the weather. Plus, only reason Pitt has been lacking lately is because of PSU WVU and OSU stealing recruits from the area. Finally i'm not an Arizona hater. I could careless about that place. I sometimes even forget it's a state (kind of like Idaho). Finally, he's feeding you the same bull shit he fed us. Watch his Pitt interview and you'll see it's IDENTICAL to his ASU one. He'll stay there a couple years but when he's there best believe he's looking for somsthing better. O and P.S. how is ASU a better job? Even your own AZ fox sports dude said your facilities are garbage. Your stadium is falling a part. Here, you have the same facilities as the PITTSBURGH STEELERS. You have history here. 9 National Championships, you have RESPECTABLE alumni here like Mike Ditka, Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett, Larry Fitzgerald, Le Sean Mccoy etc.  Pat Tilman is the only person that comes to mind when i think ASU and thats mainley because he was a war hero. O Jake Plummer? LMFAO
