Todd Graham's departure from Pittsburgh to accept the head coaching job at Arizona State came as a big surprise to the college football world, especially the Pittsburgh players and administration. The school has already issued their official statement of disappointment, but the current Panthers took their displeasure to Twitter.

It wasn't pretty, either.

Below are a few selections from defensive end Brandon Lindsey (@B_Lindsey7), wide receiver Devin Street (@D_Street_15), and wide receiver Salath Williams (@WiLLiando17). Graham reportedly informed the team by text message as he was on the way to Tempe to be officially introduced as the next coach of the Sun Devils. Lindsey and Street, in particular, spent a great deal of Wednesday voicing their frustrations. If you'd like you can check out their pages in the links above - but warning, some language is NSFW.

Pitt's coach leaves....who cares?

I'm going to try and remember these players and see if one day in the NFL they pull the same move Graham pulled and go to some other team all for the money and then say it wasn't for the money.....the only problem is, I doubt we see any of these guys in the NFL!!!

Get over it cry babies, you'll get hurt more in the future and if you can't deal with this, then you're in a lot more trouble than you'll ever know!

$$$ Talks.  Every one of these players would leave their job in a second for more cash.  I have and will again.  Coaches rarely are part of the fabric of a University for a lifetime like players, their trade is coaching and they work at many places through their career, some assistants on the way up change year in and year out.  Everyone gets pissed when a pro athlete or coach wants to get a job elsewhere.  Its just life, get over it.

Pitt players react to Todd Graham's departure

the first two posters are retarded.  The coach pledges and signs a contract to be a coach for 4 years.  He leaves after one?  Also, you point out how these players play the "same game" when they are recruited.  WTF are you talking about the same game?  If a coach bolts after one year, he can still coach.  If a player leaves after a year, he has to sit out!  Both of you are morons and really need to check yo'self before you wreck yo'self!

Pitt players react to Todd Graham's departure

You cant understand why they are upset?  You sign an ironclad agreement to stay at Pitt for your college career and then the stiff up and rolls away.  Meanwhile all season he talked about unity team and an us 1st approach.  But bolts at his 1st opportunity to leave.  And you aint sure why the players are mad?  Fo Reals?

Pitt players react to Todd Graham's departure

I get to post first on this.....

I cannot understand what the players are getting upset for. He took a job he feels is better for him. The players all played the game in high school when recruiters were coming by. I don't think these guys committed to Pitt and didn't "shop around". Guys, you may not like it but it is college football.
