ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

Okay, we've now got FSU playing USF, Florida, and Miami.  Miami plays FSU and USF.  Why doesn't my alma mater, Florida want to play Miami anymore.  I just don't get that one.  When I was growing up in the 60's, Miami AND FSU were both staples of Florida's schedule.  Yet for the last several decades, FSU has been the only annual in-state school on our schedule, and that is mandated by state law.  I know that all the conferences have increased the conference game scheduling recently, but surely Florida can find its way to dump one of the out-of-conference nothings to add Miami and USF to the mix.  One way for all the Florida schools to get back into the national picture and keep home-grown recruits in state is to foster the intra-state rivalries.  And it has to start with Florida putting Miami back on the schedule.

ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

Wow, half our team gone or leaving, Edsall still at the helm.....it looks like my alma mater might get lucky enoug to win 2 games this year:  William & Mary and UConn--too bad we don't play Duke.  It looks like it will be another great year in College Park.  Sure glad we fired Friedgen......

I'd rather be great in basketball than mediocre in football. How many points did West Virginia score on you in the Orange Bowl? 70?

ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

@ Shmalick : Clemson is and always will be football . College sports is football. All the other sports a school has combined doesnt bring in the money that their football teams do...well , that is if they have a decent football program. Duke and Carolina are hoops schools...but if you dont think they wouldnt trade those basketball trophies for a single Football National Championship you would be fooling yourself . Basketball is secondary to football , always and forever. if 85,000 people ever show up in a single venue to watch a basketball game let me know....until then have a seat at the end of the bench with the rest of the second stringers.

ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

>Clemson starts and ends the schedule against the SEC , and in the middle plays FSU on the road early with Va Tech all revved up for revenge coming to Death Valley. Should be an interesting season...and Shmolik, not everyone in the ACC is basketball oriented. If your league predicates itself on basketball then that usually means its football sucks.

College basketball:

Duke: 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010 NATIONAL Champions
North Carolina: 1993, 2005, 2009 NATIONAL Champions

Clemson meanwhile has won all of one national championship ... back in 1981.

Maybe you're concentrating on the wrong sport. Or you're in the wrong conference. Do us in the ACC a favor and join the SEC. We'd rather have UConn than your sorry basketball team.

ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

Don't you ACC fans realize it's still basketball season? If you're actually checking out next season's football season, your basketball team must suck. I don't think the folks in Duke and North Carolina care right now what week they play Clemson in football.

I like the primetime games  GT-VT, VT-FSU, CLEM-WF, NC-VA, VT-MIA and maybe non conference Clemson-Auburn.  I pump for ACC football.  I am a fan.

ACC releases 2012 regular season schedule

let me edit that, a bye before Miami and then home to FSU on a Thursday night as well.
GA tech has to come there to open the seaon and UVA at home this year.  again, not a bad schedule.   The Clemson game is a big one after last year
