I just don't know if he will last the length of the contract.  Big guys like that tend to go down faster than other players.

Guess he can always DH at the tail end of the contract though. 

Can't lie...we really needed a 1st baseman in Texas....really thought Fielder would have a Rangers uniform on next season but I think Nolan felt the $ was too much.  Fielder's youth says a 10 yr contract is good...but if he doesn't lose some weight....those years may get rough.

Length of contract was no big deal to owner Illitch...dude is 82 right now...NEEDS to win soon...

Prince was always huge...I remeber the days he was a bat boy for the Tigers...kid was a tub of goo back then at 8 years old...
