i actually enjoy the olympics. once every four years, it makes a nice change of place from the vast majority of mind-numbingly stupid **** on TV normally.

but i have zero interest in the pomp and circumstance. like a super bowl halftime show, call me when it's over and the damn game's on.

I like the Winter Olympics so much better than the Summer Olympics. Hell somehow they even make cross country skiing interesting.

Dramatization of sports makes them uninteresting. Just tell me the facts and I will decide if I want them to win.

i like a lot of people on this site a lot. many of them are regular posters to this thread.

as a website/message board admin for 10 years and counting, i know how difficult it is to run a board and balance all the factors needed to keep it a place that all can enjoy. it's a thankless job, and no matter what any admin chooses to do, they will be heaped with abuse by someone.

that being said, the management of this website is inexplicable. there are countless users on this site who are obvious trolls to anyone with an IQ above 5. there are tons of racists and bigots on this site who spread their messages of hatred and intolerance on a daily basis, and are permitted to do so.

i like a lot of people on this site a lot. yes, i am aware that i already said that. but i will now have to strongly consider whether or not i'm interested in any continued participation here if this site continues to enforce (and i use that term VERY loosely) its own policies in such a capricious manner.

I think the admins needed to remember that a paid CBS writer posted the Timmy story and threw in a little hidden opinion to drive the message board. A member didn't bring in this complete no story and start a thread, they did. When you bring in a story like that you almost need to not even have admin because the only that can happen is what has.

I suppose it's my own fault for getting too involved. I should have just walked away after posting an apology to the one guy I was battling with on Friday. I lost my cool on Friday.

Red had it right to just avoid the thread all together. This new account will likely get banned as well for re-posting the stuff that apparently got me banned in the first place.

that's a great point, CMC. i've seen plenty of occassions on this site where one of its own writers was deliberately trolling, something prohibited for users here. at least one writer, who appears to no longer be employed here, thankfully, did it on a regular basis.

Lulz, you are 100% correct, this site is so half assed backwards. If it wasn't for the members I would have left this site years ago. At this point I just have to laugh about it, altought is it so lame that you got your account banned Scuba.

What keeps me on this site is this thread.  It's our little haven among the retardedness around the rest of the thread.

And CBS seems to kind of leave us alone here.

As far as that thread on Tim Thomas goes, there are arguments on both sides I agree with.  There are also some of the dumbest arguments I've ever seen written down presented by both sides. 

Much of what both sides says is complete and utter hypocrisy.  It'd be hilarious if it weren't so sad.

It's like these people have never met someone who's got an opinion the opposite of their own.  And if they do know anyone like that, I question how a fist fight wouldn't break out right away upon seeing their face.

Speaking of trainwrecks, I feel bad for the couple that drove under a bridge with a derailed train on top of it that collapsed the bridge on top of them.   They died.     The train had been there for hours.

If you saw a derailed train on a bridge, would you drive under it?

I admit, as a trainwreck lover, I would stare, but I would probably take a detour.   Especially if somebody else was in the care with me.

Kelly's heroes was on last night.    Have to watch at least 15 or 20minutes if not the whole thing when it's on.

I love when big Joe goes back to cottage in his jeep and he's says to the man with all the porn films to stay there for a minute.   Of course he calls him "padre".    Great movie.
