I don't think you will drop the second 2 of those 3, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mac&Cheese hit the waiver wire before the end of the month.  That being said, I wasn't saying that those 3 players weren't worthy of being traded for...just didn't see the point of swapping very similar players for each other.

I can neither confirm nor deny this. I will say that the BYOW poker games we have on Sunday nights are amazing!

The Nets have no wasted no time on pursuing big time mediocrity by signing Joe Johnson. My bet is that they next will land Howard and Deron Williams still goes to Dallas.

I always get suspicions of a die hard homer that has been to or watched 80 percent of his teams games trying to trade the supposed best pitcher on the team... sounds like "beware of Greeks bearing gifts"..... that is a 100% clue of who is gonna be available on the waiver wire as soon as you so no to the trade

I don't have many thoughts on the Dwight Howard saga other than it is usually bad business to pay a premium for a player with an injury history that is already past his prime.  That being said, it sure is going to suck being a small market team in the NBA...there's little to no chance of them being able to keep their single superstars when they all are deciding to take a few less Bucks to play together in the big cities under the bright lights.

I got a solid quality start and win from Kyle Lohse (21.5 points), a save from Fernando Rodney (10.5 points), and very good performances from Joey Bautista (8 points) and Jay Bruce (6 points) to open up a 31 point lead on Scott.  With him getting losses from both Fister and Hammel, he's probably just lucky that my lead isn't closer to 50 points.

I had to trade Buster Posey as part of a package deal to get Joey Bats (still happy with the deal) and now my Catcher position is really suffering with Brian McCann having to start.  I have no idea what his problem has been this season, but he NEEDS to snap out of it after the All Star break and start hitting like I know he can.

Sounds like you should trade for a catcher.

On to other things..   Why would Deron Williams go to the Nets now?   Joe Johnsom can shoot sure, but what else does he do besides play No defense and gets hurt ?   Sorry, I'm not paying someone $20 million a year that is lazy.  He reminds me of Tracy McGrady and not because of the lazy eye.    This russian guy is a hoot.

I don't know much about the NBA anymore (really could care less about a league that does not strive for competitive balance) so I'll leave the generation of possible signings/trades to those more informed...lol

Yeah I know...there are really only 3 Catchers I would consider trading for...Carlos Ruiz (Dave), Yadier Molina (Marty), and Joe Mauer (Austin) and I highly doubt that any of these guys would take back Brian McCann before he shows some significant improvement.

The only good news for me is that if I'm going to be "weak" at any one position, Catcher is preferred over all others.

Well, Dave leads me by 50 points after havings 3 starts out of his 13 starts last night.  Why he would sit R.A. Dickey in favor of a 2 start is obvious.



He's scared of me and so desperately wants to win a game.  It is so chickenshit**** and hilarious.



That's ok though.  I'll keep doing my things, MY WAY, and we'll see who the contenders and who are the pretenders.



B, if your catcher sucks....cut him loose and bring in someone else.  Why do you always have to trade?        



           

Unknowingly at the time of draft, I selected two Catchers that are both on the undroppable list...in order to "cut him loose", trading is my only option.  That being said, the pedigree of both Buster Posey and Brian McCann had me thinking that trading them would never be an issue, but oh how I was mistaken on that one...Performance (not name recognition) is everything in this league.

I can only wonder how my team would be had my buddy's (whose name happens to be Buddy) internet not failed twice during that draft.

As for Dave being desperate to get Wins, the current standings necessitate such a drastic tactic:

10-3 Fred (West) - Despite his two victories vs me, he knows he has no chance of catching me...PERIOD

8-5 Marty (East) - Marty's team has been decent as of late, but is streaky...Dave doesn't care who win the division

8-5 Vickie (East) - Val's team has struggled as of late, but is quite capable of running off multiple wins in a row

7-6 Tony (West) - He might be the next most consistent team behind me, but his pitching has struggled at times

7-6 Frank (West) - Dave and Frank use the exact same tactics of trying to overwhelm their opponents with 2-start SPs

6-7 Austin (East) - He was on a tear for a few weeks, but has cooled off recently..nothing like facing Estle to cure what ails

6-7 Rick (East) - His team is in free fall with little hope of slowing down until Matt Kemp returns..by then it might be too late

6-7 Scott (East) - Seems to be in a race with Rick to see which team is going to provide cushion for the other

5-8 Dave (West) - How is the highest scoring team in the league this low in the rankings? Too much risk that's how

2-11 Estle (West) - no comment


So as you can see he can leap frog both Scott and Rick this week based on YTD points tie-breaker if he wins and they both lose, but that still leaves him in only 7th place and only Top 4 make the playoffs.  If he is not within one or two places of the Top 4 by the end of Week 18 when he will be essentially done with non-division play (1 game vs Austin in Week 22 and 1 game vs Scott in Week 24), he is likely to have simply too many teams to climb over in order to get the 2nd Wild Card slot.

Since his division record is only .500 and one of his losses was to Estle, you can see that he NEEDS to win at all costs now.

I wasn't able to log into the draft room until my first two picks had been auto-drafted...Cliff Lee has been an epic disappointment so far, but Joey Votto has been an extreme success so I guess I can't complain too much.

One thing is for sure and that is I definitely would not have selected Cliff Lee with the #7 overall pick with Ryan Braun, Matt Kemp, and Jose Bautista all still ripe for the picking.  My biggest blunder was taking Evan Longoria over Carlos Gonzalez in Round 4...how the hell Cargo made it to Round 4 is beyond me, but at the time I was thinking the same thing about Longo as well.
