If we lose kg that leaves a gaping hole at center on an already w
Small front court. Short of singe replacing kg with hawes and Kaman the Celtics are going to need to remodel their entire identity. I really hope kg comes back so we can start him or in the event that singe signs Kaman, possibly bringing kg off the bench. What are your thoughts on if we lose kg

Well, I say resign KG at pound price to a short term deal with incentives. If he can produce at this level for 2 more seasons, we don't want to lose him. Especially, considering his intangible value such as mentoring a JaVale McGee or similar big man for the duration of his time in Boston. Ray Allen, I don't see staying in Boston but hopefully he'll take less money than other teams will be willing to offer so he can stay in Celtic green. Big game tonight guys. What ya got? Celtics 100 Sixers 90. Word.

Good news is, Brandon Bass showed up when we needed him most. Bad news is, Avery Bradley is going to need offseason surgery to strengthen his shoulder and could conceivably be done for the playoffs. Lets hope he is able to give the team 15-20 solid minutes of ballhawking pressure on the way to the finals. If not, lets hope Michael Pietrus will show us more of the player we saw before the concussion/whiplash. This team just doesn't have the guts to give up. The other good news is, now everytime bam posts on here we will be able to feel the palpable anger brewing within. It'll make for good fun. Word.

We need some form of consistancy from our bench, I can't believe how injury prone bradly has become this postseason

He's got broad shoulders and takes a beating. He's young and will be fine. I applaud him for even wanting to go. We can replace his scoring but its the loss of his ball pressure that I'm most worried about. We will need Daniels, Pavlovic and Pietrus to give us some quality minutes in the conference finals. Here's to hoping Indiana can pull off a win tonight. I'd like to see that series go 7. Word.

Daniels is terrible I'd rather throw Moore out on the court

Moore isn't ready. He needs time to develop confidence, a jumpshot and to learn how to play in Doc's system. At this point he is limited to garbage time. I suspect if given the minutes to get a rhythm, Daniels would perform better as a rotation player. Still, an injured Bradley severely impedes our ability to defend quicker backcourt players. Now when say, Jrue Holiday beats Ray Allen off the dribble we have to rely on our undersized frontcourt to clean it up. That causes foul trouble. See game 4. Perhaps Moore would be more valuable if he was quick enough to defend at the pro level. Rondo is pulling triple duty. We need him to score, facilitate and defend. Word.

If a LA basketball team is a "title contender", and never showns signs of it...were they really a title contender?

I got a kick out of Kobe at the press conference last night. He didn't want to entertain the notion that this team's window has closed. The Lakers best bet is to ship Kobe and Gasol BOTH off in different directions and get as many parts/picks as they can for the rebuild around their true franchise player, Andrew Bynum. Word.

crotch i think going after JJ hickson and Kaman would be the best plan in terms of Free Agents, combined the tow of them averaged close to 15 rebounds a game, and seeing as Lavoy Allen is probablly going to get locked up by the sixers. i think the Celtics have a shot with Hickson considering the blazers are drowning in cap problems.
its looking like most of the good bigs wont be there when the celtics are on the clock and 3 point specialists are a dime a dozen. |

Not sold on Lavoy Allen. Not sure why Sacramento EVER let Hickson leave for the Blazers. Not enthused about Kaman. I'd rather just resign Greg Stiemsma and let him get major minutes. I have a feeling that Steamer will produce as long as KG is in Celtic green. How about this for next season:
C) Kevin Garnett, Greg Stiemsma, Ryan Hollins PF) Brandon Bass, Draft Pick, JaJuan Johnson SF) Paul Pierce, Jeff Green SG) Avery Bradley, Ray Allen, Mike Pietrus PG) Rajon Rondo, DP/FA, Etwan Moore I don't expect Pavlovic, Daniels or Dooling back in Celtics green. I do hope they end up with rings. Word. |

How about this for next season:short of JJ having a sophmore explosion like bradley i gotta be honest thats a big risk. big men are deep in this draft for sure... but aside from Green from MSU i dont see the celtics being in a position to get any of them. the celtics have 21 million to spend. i have a hard time believing they would spend it on a backup point guard. its not like steamer is going to come at a high price... at best he's looking at like 2 million dollar contract |

Don't be surprised if Steamer fields bigger offers than 2M/yr. He's gonna go with the money. This guy is a rookie shot-blocking, rebounding near-7 footer who can finish at the rim and knock down 15 footers. I hope he doesn't break the bank and you can believe Ainge is gonna lowball him to see where him and his agent are at. I don't think they're gonna spend a good deal for a backup point guard but they didn't spend much on Dooling. I just think we could do a bit better although I haven't been disappointed with Keyon. He's given us about what I expected out of him. I'm curious about Jeff Green's health right now. I also would've liked to have seen how far Chris Wilcox could've gone with Rondo getting him the ball on breaks. Closeout game tonight. We are 2-10 in the Big 4 era when we are up 3-2. I think we will win in a thriller (although I've never predicted us to lose ;^)> ). Word. |

Hawk, Rock: Ill leave the Celtic projections of the future to you two or Logic. This super Celtic fan, from B.Russell era. I have mostly noted big additions of Bass and Bradley(expect Avery and Rondo) to be even better next season. This squad, though sometimes walking wounded have the experience and heart to challenge any of the remaining contenders. The media continue trying to crown the Heat as best in the East, but their past history says otherwise. The battlefield is littered with pretenders, now we finally discover the real contenders!!! Go Celtics!!!

We need to man-zone Miami on defense and avoid cross-court passes on offense. We need to get Rondo going early and often. Bradley needs to contribute tough, ballhawking defense and get about 3-4 baskets a game off cuts and turnovers. KG needs to have his way with the Heat bigs. I think all those things are doable. Always happy to see a post from you, Superlion. Word.

Double-whammy, boys! Loss to Philly, loss of Bradley. Our backs are against the wall. I'm confident in game 7 at the Garden, but what then? I think we can still summon enough to do it! C'mon, Mike Pietrus, C'mon everybody! Time to show them one more time what we're made of! Word.

Well, fellas, we got punched in the mouth. The good I take from game 1 is we have seen what does not work. We can take positives away from the 2nd quarter and focus on what we did correctly. We shot terribly and deserved to lose despite the referees obvious dedication to calling BS on us. Game 2 Celtics 101 Heat 90. We'll head to Boston with homecourt advantage and get our first back to back wins of the playoff in the next two games. The Heat will be intent on going up 2-0 but will they be able to recover from the loss they'll be getting? Word.

Crotch
You called it. I never thought in this transition year they woould get this far. I sure wish AB could be going to see howhe would defend Wade. No one can guard LBJ well right now. I would push him to his right, and protect the lane. Hmmmm Steamer played well, surprised he was not used much after 2nd quarter? ???? Love the heart of these players. How do we slow down Wade....thats the only dimension I see having a chance for us to keep their O in check. |

Rondo has to be must better. Pierce just isn't going to have a big scoring series. He has too much on his plate defensively. Thing to be concerned about is KG may not be that solid all series. Bench has to give us more.
And of course the same old, same old, gotta rebound. Miami's bench wont be that productive all series and I expect them to flop when they come to Boston. If Celtics can slow one of James or Wade they'll be fine. Didn't expect to sweep the Miami games to open the series so we can still get the split. |

When Miami goes big with Wade at point guard, Doc should counter and go small with Pierce at the 4 and Pietrus at the 3. That unit could run with Miami. Doc is one of the best in the league at adjustments and I expect to see a lot more zone in game 2. Fact is, for much of the game we defended James/Wade well but their shots were falling. I suspect they'll be in their comfort zone in game 2 and their lacks play will lead to a nailbiter in the early part of the 4th. We should get about a 9-12 point win going home with confidence. Once we taste that first win, its going to be tough to beat this Celtics team. Hang in there, guys, we knew this wasn't going to be easy. Word.
